The challenge

Bosch Rexroth is a leading global supplier of drive and control technologies. Bosch Rexroth’s product portfolio also includes the autonomous transport system “ACTIVE Shuttle”, which can be used to automate material and goods flows.

At the end of 2022, Bosch Rexroth was looking for a new supplier for the lithium battery of the mobile robot in order to meet the new and stricter safety requirements of the product standard for the accumulator. This required a compact battery with a high energy density that would fit into the specified installation space, as well as the appropriate charging technology.

The solution

Allgäu Batterie is now providing Bosch Rexroth with a coherent, perfectly tailored energy package for the “ACTIVE Shuttle”, consisting of the lithium-ion traction battery, charging technology and technical service.

The product parameters of the lithium battery and the charging technology have been specially adapted to Bosch Rexroth’s individual requirements. This means that the lithium battery can be optimally installed in the AMR, delivers the desired performance and also meets the required legal standard EN 1175 (safety of industrial trucks) and performance level. At the same time, the wallbox chargers are technically designed in such a way that they can be used in other countries, for example, and also enable higher charging currents.

Allgäu Batterie was able to convince the customer by fulfilling all customer requirements with regard to custom-made products and delivery times, as well as with a fast response time to inquiries and compliance with the necessary battery standards. Allgäu Batterie also provided support with the technical integration of the battery on site and with the selection and configuration of the appropriate charging technology.
